The deadline for hotel reservations at the conference rate has been extended through Friday, June 4. Unfortunately, reservations for Friday night, July 2 are already sold out so please do not include that date in your search for rooms.


Air Travel and Ground Transportation  

Air Travel
Baltimore-Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI) is serviced by 23 airlines, with non-stop flights to and from 62 domestic and 5 international cities daily. BWI is located approximately 15 minutes from Baltimore Convention Center.

Taxi Cabs
Taxis, as well as sedans, station wagons and large vans, are available at the BWI taxi stand located just outside of the baggage claim area of the Lower Level of the BWI Marshall Airport Terminal.  Call 410/859-1100 or use the curbside phones located at the Baggage Claim Level.  The cost for a taxi is approximately $35 one-way.

Baltimore Penn Station (BAL) is approximately 10 minutes from the Baltimore Convention Center. The cost for a taxi is approximately $15 one-way.

The Light Rail Service is provided by the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) to and from BWI Marshall Airport.

Light Rail service is available to downtown Baltimore from BWI Marshall Airport. Depart at the Camden Yards the Baltimore Convention Center is located next to this stop.There is only one fare at $1.60 each way.

Travel Authorizations and Visas for the United States


1. How to obtain a travel authorization:

Beginning 12 January 2009, all nationals and citizens of Visa Waiver Program (VWP) countries who plan to travel to the U.S. for temporary business or pleasure for 90 days or less will be required by law to
obtain travel authorization prior to initiating travel to the United States. This authorization can be obtained online through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA), a free Internet application
administered by the U.S. Department of Homeland security.

Travelers from countries not in the VWP are still required to obtain a Visa upon entry into the United States.

2. How to obtain an acceptance letter for a visa - for authors:

Uploading the final version of your manuscript and obtaining a formal acceptance letter on conference letterhead for a manuscript accepted to the conference are both performed using the PaperPlaza conference paper management web site (link to http://css.paperplaza.net). The acceptance letter may be used to apply for funding, travel permits, or a visa. An acceptance letter request can only be made using the PaperPlaza web site by following the simple instructions outlined below.
  1. Connect to the PaperPlaza web site (link to the http://css.paperplaza.net). Please make sure that Javascript is enabled and cookies are allowed in your web browser. Follow the link labeled "Start" at the top of the page and then the link "Log in" on the top of the next page. You should now log into PaperPlaza. Logging in requires your PIN number and your password. If you do not have your PIN number or password, follow the "PIN" link on this page to obtain this information.
  2. Access the workspace associated with the 2010 ACC. Follow the "Enter" link next to the entry "Author or proposer of submission ..." where the paper number for each of your submissions is indicated.
  3. You will be directed to a page containing nine links to various functions that may be performed with your submissions. Please note that you must indicate the specific submission using the table at the bottom of this page.
  4. Follow the link "Final submission" to upload the final version of your manuscript and abstract.
  5. Follow the link "Request an acceptance letter" to obtain a formal acceptance letter on conference letterhead. Fill in the appropriate information on the web form that appears and follow the instructions to download a.pdf version of the acceptance letter.

 

3. How to obtain an invitation letter for a visa - for attendees who do NOT have a paper at the conference:

An invitation letter on conference letterhead will be issued upon request for those who do not have a paper in the conference program but wish to attend the conference and have paid the registration fees. Please contact the program chair for further details, with the subject "Request for Invitation Letter to the 2010 ACC".
